TELECOM ANNOUNCES GOODWILL GESTURE |

Telecom has today announced a goodwill gesture worth almost $5m, following last week's outage to the XT mobile network.
The package, announced by Paul Reynolds today in Dunedin, recognises those customers who lost service during the outage but also makes a meaningful donation to those South Island communities that were most heavily disrupted by the outage. |

XT SERVICES FULLY RESTORED |

Telecom has advised that all XT mobile sites have been restored since 10pm last night.
Mobile sites in the lower South Island, which had been experiencing issues since Wednesday morning, are now operating and stable. |

If any customers are still experiencing any issues with their XT devices following the recent network outage, such as inability to send text messages, in many cases these problems can be resolved with a ‘hard reset’ of their device. |

Telecom network engineers are continuing to restore XT mobile network services in the lower South Island.
Overnight, service was restored to some affected sites with around 97% of XT network sites across New Zealand now fully operational. |

TELECOM TO PUT FORWARD POWERFUL PROPOSITION ON FIBRE |

Telecom will today submit its response to the Invitation to Participate in providing Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) for New Zealand. Telecom will provide a fully compliant Preferred Commercial Model proposal, and an Alternative Commercial Model proposal. The alternative proposal focuses on delivering a national network using Telecom’s fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) programme as the logical springboard for the Government’s vision of fibre-to-the-home (FTTH). |
